Big Woods Bucks Welcomes Kevin Stone to the Team
Kevin Stone from the Adirondacks joins Big Woods Bucks
Kevin Stone is a lifelong hunter and outdoorsman who grew up in and lives in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. From a young age, Kevin was brought hunting in the remote mountains and swamps of the southern Adirondacks with his father. Kevin comes from a family of deer hunters, hunting out of the camp his family has owned since 1917. He enjoys spending time in camp and hunting with family, including his two cousins, his father, and his wife.
Kevin grew up as mainly a still-hunter, and soon was taking multiple mature bucks on bare ground and snow. However, the challenge of conquering the Big Woods and learning the art of tracking became a priority as Kevin grew as a hunter, as now when the snow falls in the Adirondacks he looks for a big track to follow. “There is nothing like a buck telling you his story in the snow all day while you follow him, before finally catching up to get a crack at him,” Kevin said.
For Kevin, it becomes more of a journey through the season than a mere single day hunting. “The Adirondacks are some of the biggest woods in the Northeast. The seemingly never-ending mountain ranges and swamps are almost addicting.” From spring scouting and shed hunting, to hanging trail cameras in the fall, you can find Kevin deep in the mountains looking for his next Big Woods Buck.
